HK$230,000 is equivalent to nearly US$30,000. Nobody's going to pay that much for 10 year old M3 in Hong Kong, especially when it's a manual...

Not at all - nearly every single car is Hong Kong is an automatic. People here don't like shifting their gears.

What is like the market price for E46 M3 convertibles in Hong Kong? This one looks to be in great shape, only 59000 km.

wut
$70,000
That's more than a used 2011 528i here in Hong Kong...

I heard traffic in Hong Kong is pretty bad. Not much happiness driving stick then...

A used 2011 528i cost nothing in the US. Nobody wants that car used. Manual M3s hold their value much better.

That's interesting. So people like single clutch robotized manuals more than stick?

It's more than a new 2015 M3 here; that's the real kicker.

It seems like the majority of prices hang around HK$268,000 but for SMG equipped ones that are better equipped than the example above. The mileage between them varies - I just saw two M3s, one convertible and one coupe, advertised at the same price but there's a 25,750km difference in their mileages.

Anything that doesn't involve a third pedal. The only cars here that really run manual 'boxes are classic cars, vans and trucks and the occasional petrolhead's car.

They do cost a lot here - US$55,000 for a used 528i and nearly US$60,000 for a 523i Executive...
http://www.automall.com.hk - that's a nice site to get a grip on car prices here.

I could probably get an 11 528i for $39K if I negotiated a bit.
Business people get low spec cars on lease then turn them in 3 years later. Dealers sell them for not much

1) Fly to HK
2) Buy M3
3) Fly back to the US
4) Lie to women, tell them you're rich as fuck because you just brought a '$230k' car you had imported for you.
5) Buy a Fedora to make the douchebag transformation complete.

Sounds like a solid plan!
